During a company excursion, the Timber Concept team visited a successfully implemented construction project with glulam beams and the production facilities of two long-standing suppliers.
At this year's autumn meeting of the Heilbronn-Öhringen carpenters' guild, Ansgar Knill and Thomas Schmidbauer gave a presentation on their practical experience. The topic was the static calculation, construction and assembly planning of a single-family house in cross laminated timber (CLT) construction.
Elliot House is a Japanese townhouse-style house built in Cape Town, South Africa. The 90m² extension to the existing house was built in CLT and clad with cork on the exterior. Timber Concept provided structural engineering and construction drawings for this project. CLT was used because it is easy to build, has a low carbon footprint and offers health benefits.
Timber Concept supports the flood victims of Germany's flooded areas with a donation for Timber Industry Helps Flood Victims.
Great Yarmouth Market in Norfolk is one of the oldest markets in England.
Settlers probably traded their agricultural produce and fish here as early as 1,008 BC.
Surrounded by historic buildings dating back to Edwardian and Victorian times, the market, which covers an area of 5,400 metres in the centre of the town, is still extremely popular today with its various market stalls selling a wide range of produce.
A new market is currently being built here, which will replace the old permanent, covered part of the market in the course of next year.
For this great project, Timber Concept supplied the glulam made of European larch.
Timber Concept supplied BSH and CLT ceiling elements for an extension in Roggenzell.
The longest CLT elements had a span of 20 m.
The extension will serve as a showroom for the BHG Roggenzell and the SWERO company.
The Homerun project on the 24,000 m² site of the former "Turley Barracks" offers modern, energy-efficient living space in a green, car-free residential neighborhood.
Our ONEWOOD baseball bat was installed here in the outdoor area.

Timber Concept did the timber construction and structural design of a 2-story wooden extension made of cross laminated timber (CLT) and steel parts for the Bucher carpentry in Rettenbach, Bavaria to enlarge the workshop area on the first floor and to build a new apartment on the upper floor.
For this project, approx. 200 m³ of BSP were used for walls, ceiling and roof.
The new generation of solid wood with excellent technical properties will soon be seen in Europe with a unique reference project.
ONEWOOD in the shape of a 6m long baseball bat is currently on its way to Germany on the high seas.

Timber Concept has been awarded „Timber Construction Supplier 2021” by the Austrian Holzkurier magazine.
There is a very informative 2-page article in Holzkurier 48/2020 presenting Timber Concept.
Our team welcomes two new timber construction professionals:
Eike Wüstenhagen (master carpenter) and Paul Hottelet (master carpenter and wood technician) will support us as CAD designers from now on.
ONEWOOD is a new generation of solid wood with excellent technical properties.
The building material consists of wood fibres from fast-growing tree species, which are formed into solid blocks in a special process and then cut to smaller formats.
Visually, ONEWOOD resembles valuable tropical woods such as Balau, Chengal, teak or ironwood - but in fact not a single one of these trees had to be cut to produce ONEWOOD.
Timber Concept is distributor of this fascinating product in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
The center of the 20.000 m², climate-neutral production site “Dreamwork Green Factory” of Shuter company in Taiwan is marked by the “Tree of Life” (symbol of the spiritual banyan tree). The 25 m high tree made of glulam consists of 16 columns that extend into branches under the roof.
An accessible helicline made of curved glulam elements leads to the higher floors.
There is also a floating bridge between production hall and office building.
Almost 400 m³ glulam and approx. 80 m³ LVL were used for the “Tree of Life”.
The local timber construction company M.H. Timber Design is overseeing the ongoing installation.
Timber Concept delivered the entire timber construction (Glulam, CLT, solid wood) for this unique building – Amanpuri Resort’s Retail Pavilion on Phuket Island, Thailand. The “floating roofs” pavilion was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.

Several semi-detached houses in CLT massive timber were constructed in Bost (Tienen), Belgium.
Timber Concept did static calculation, planning and delivery of CLT and connectors.
With an optimized loading and crane-movement schedule construction time could be reduced to 22 hours (2.5 days) with a 3-man crew.
A single-family home in CLT massive timber construction was built in Leingarten, Germany.
Timber Concept provided static calculation, planning and energy certificate for this building project.
The walls are made of 12 cm thick and the roof of 18 cm thick massive CLT panels.
In total 150 elements in 3 lorries were transported to the construction site and assembled there.
In the long run the wood used in this single house will help to bundle 130 tons of CO².
